Language is our most important tool to communicate. But we speak so many different languages, not only the language our mothers taught us in the country where we grew up, but also our professional languages. The language of the lawyer is different from the language of the mental health professional or the financial. The language of an adult is not the same as the language of a child. Our language is influenced by our background, culture, religion, sex, in short: by the way we are.
All those differences can lead to misunderstanding and even conflicts.
But the diversity also gives us the power to understand each other better and to solve conflicts if we are able to listen to each other and work together.
The collaborative practice is our common language, wherever we come from.
